www.prisoncensorship.info is a media institution run by the Maoist Internationalist Ministry of Prisons. Here we collect and publicize reports of conditions behind the bars in U.$. prisons. Information about these incidents rarely makes it out of the prison, and when it does it is extremely rare that the reports are taken seriously and published. This historical record is important for documenting patterns of abuse, and also for informing people on the streets about what goes on behind the bars.

We hope this information will inspire people to take action and join the fight against the criminal injustice system. While we may not be able to immediately impact this particular instance of abuse, we can work to fundamentally change the system that permits and perpetuates it. The criminal injustice system is intimately tied up with imperialism, and serves as a tool of social control on the homeland, particularly targeting oppressed nations.

Isolation, No Programs, Little Food in Womens' Prison

Today I witness: as I sit in this hole. “The Punishment we face for (R) Wrongs” Is it enough that we fell short of the glory of God? The women and myself (have) been sitting in the hole for more than 30 days… some of the women went to go get sanction on their writeups and “their result”, they would stay back in the hole another 30 days. Plus, there’s no restorative programs available to a woman. They just throw you in the hole, but not on time, and it’s a punishment, but we have a unit called “Behavior Modification”. It’s states: in NRS-209(b), “A hearing shall be held concerning the charges against (of) offender not later than 15 days after the alleged violation or not later than 15 days after the completion of the investigation of the alleged violation, whichever is later.”

The Behavior Modification is: you study on a packet, you sit back there on another 30-plus days, then sometimes after, then General Population could happen.

As a woman, “we too make mistakes”, but throw us in the hole, do not apply to the pain we have already suffered, or why we (R) already in Prison, but is this the life, as in, go out and live a… normal life…?

In the hole and through-out the prisons, the portions is very small. Breakfast is at 5AM. With a sack lunch sandwich with (1) meat, (4) small carrot or celery or apple, or 2 breads with 4 cheese with a small bag of chips and small drinks or (2) peanut butter and (1) small jelly. Dinner is at 4pm a small portion, we (don’t) shop for food… I have been in for (15 years) and the new laws are supposed to get better, but not in this prison. But to top this off, the officers are very very lazy, all they care about is their hair. Yes, the women officers hoping the men officers is looking… (Damn). Lazy and moody.

In General Population there is not one thing to do, fight or talk about someone’s case that aired on the news, and who’s coming back to prison. If we had better programming or activities, we would learn right from wrong.

(In the hole) when it’s shower or yard time, we strip naked, bend, spread open butt cheeks, even in front of the new trainee… AND most of the officers are gay or lesbian.
