MIM Movie Review

This is an archive of the former website of the Maoist Internationalist Movement, which was run by the now defunct Maoist Internationalist Party - Amerika. The MIM now consists of many independent cells, many of which have their own indendendent organs both online and off.    Barbarian Queen (1985)

   Led by a vanguard of women fighters of an oppressed tribe, the
   peasants, slaves, gladiators and oppressed tribes rise up to overthrow
   a king and his slave-owning guard of men.  Potentially revolutionary
   content is seriously undermined by pornographic "barbarian" costumes
   and repeated scenes of rape and murder mixed in with the male pleasures
   and fantasies. Eroticizing violence, perhaps all the more convincingly
   because of its pseudo-feminist political veneer.
