Barrios of Aztlán Unite
Here is an organization that opposes capitalism and colonialism. It also correctly talks about "the power of every Brown fist that has picked the crops that have fed this continent for centuries." It's important to keep in mind the difference between people who do actual physical labor and people who make a living off paper-shuffling related to that physical labor. The undocumented farmers and workers of Aztlán are the backbone of the whole national struggle. Without keeping their interests in mind, the Chicano struggle will end up being another facet of "diversity" within an Amerikkkan empire.
We do not know too much more about this organization. We asked for an interview. One thing--we uphold the ideology of the People's War in Peru. There are some things to be learned from the struggles of the FSLN, Cuba's Castro and Guatemala's URNG, but we believe along with Comrade Gonzalo that most of those lessons are negative. The struggle for a People's Republic of Aztlán will involve integrating the universal lessons of Marxism-Leninism-Maoism with the particular conditions of Aztlán.
