TV show "American Idol" winner Kelly Clarkson has a new album corresponding with her TV exposure titled "Thankful." It is definitely not the most talented and unique collection of songs one could ever find. Rather, the music is painfully predictable; it's sounds are not distinguishable from myriads of similar ones which surround us in a way in which we almost do not notice. The sounds inevitably come from radio when we drive, from TV when we turn it on because there is nothing else to do; they follow us to cafes, department and book stores; they shout at us from somebody's open window; sometimes we don't realize we murmur them ourselves. This is exactly what you would expect from TV-show-star-turned-singer: not much of a voice, music just like anybody else's, trivial and primitive lyrics. Speaking of Kelly's lyrics, we would love to say that patriarchy which pushes wimmin to be trivial in poetic expression and sexy if approachable and non-threatening in appearance (just like Kelly) is to blame for such a miserable enterprise (our readers know how we resent patriarchy). However, in this case, regardless of our resentment of this universal evil, we would have to leave patriarchy alone -- a lot of Kelly fans are female as well as male. If wimmin didn't like what Kelly is singing about, they wouldn't buy her albums: no amount of patriarchy in the traditional sense* would force them to do so. The problem is that some people really like it. They like using only 10% of their brain; they like recycling again and again old and tired topics; they like hearing and repeating hopeless cliches from "She found inside she felt connection She fell in love" to "I find a sweetest salvation in your arms, baby" to "Sometimes I wish you weren't by my side" to "I don't know what he is after, But he is so beautiful, Such a beautiful disaster" to "I see how you're trying to weasel your way,...Why should I believe anything you say" and "Now you are trying to use us against one another, But it won't work..." And finally, Kelly's drama reaches it's highest point: "For once in your life be a real man, I already know you did it."

Obviously, the Amerikkkan gender aristocracy has too little to worry about, too much free time and resources (at the expense of the rest of the world), and not a very clear understanding of what is wrong with gender relations in this country. The gender aristocracy enjoys playing with feelings of other people ("Don't want to give you a reason to hang around anymore" and "We've been waisting too much time, Find someone else to rain on"), but complains when it receives similar treatment ("I already know you did it.") The gender aristocracy is not much interested in looking outside the set of issues circumscribed by well-paid entertainers like Kelly Clarkson. For those who have more diverse interests, including, but not limited to math, science, history, sociology, political economy, physics, literature, Marxism and, of course, Maoism, we definitely do not recommend this album.

*For us, patriarchy is not defined by male biology but by oppressive gender relations. We believe that most of biological females in the First World, i.e., gender aristocracy, are propping up patriarchy because they could fit the social definition of "male." Imperialist society gives females licence to be as "loose" and openly sexual--even more than some males of pre-imperialist society. Gender aristocrats are allowed, encouraged and even pressured to enjoy sex the way that biological men do. What they enjoy makes them abominable oppressors and is totally distinct from how the majority of the world's wimmin--living outside the imperialist countries--experience sex. Thus, the female population in the First World is "male," a supporter of patriarchy.
