Dubya

2004
This is a review of a four song CD which appears to be titled
"Dubya." In the songs "Dubya" and "Ex" there is a little country sound. The guitar in the album is also reminiscent of the "Grateful Dead."
The "Flying Other Brothers" are venture capitalists turned artists who now have their CDs handed out at anti-war
demonstrations. "Dubya" perfectly reflects the current polarization of politics in the united $tates of 2004. While the
song "Tell Me It's Okay" speaks of a general worry about international affairs, the title is also indicative.
The attitude is scathing toward Bush, but only persynally. Most current anti-war
demonstrators have found themselves steered in that direction. They want change, but they also want to know
that "it's" (the system) basically OK.
In contrast, MIM would say hating Bush means hating the system that produced him. If Bush is not a reflection
on the system, then Bush cannot be that bad. That's why we say there are no Democrats who really hate Bush
or Republicans.
Also, if the media "fooled" so many people about Bush, then we should ask ourselves what else did it get wrong.
We urge our readers to compare what we said about the Iraq War before it started and what the major media
and Bush said. MIM told the truth about the war, and it's not just the war under our noses that the media got wrong.
It's also the experience of communism in the Soviet Union and China that the media is even more wrong about.
